Eat Smart

No doubt, eating lots of vegetables and fruits is good for you, however you will benefit more if you eat them when they are in season

In-season produce packs many more nutrients than those which are not.

Did you know that locally grown fruits and veggies probably contain more nutrients than those which are imported or shipped from distant place?  Since imported fruits or vegetables have been on shelves or spent time travelling for quite some time, they are probably not as fresh as you think.

You are also reducing carbon foot print when you buy locally grown fruits and vegetables. Your local farmers Market would be an excellent place to see in season produce.

Season for vegetables and fruits vary from region to region (as weather varies from region to region). Here is a list of some fruits and veggies throughout the year for California.
